In-Class TEFL Certification Courses
Our in-class TEFL certification courses are conducted over a four-week period and held in a classroom environment. While completing the course, trainees will study teaching methods, English grammar and phonology, and practice teaching skills during at least six hours of observed teaching practice.
Our courses are open to anyone who is fluent in English. No teaching experience is required and trainees need not hold a university degree or any teaching qualifications to be accepted onto our courses. In-class course participants must be 18 years of age or older.
Our experienced training staff will guide trainees through the course and do everything they can to provide all the assistance needed for trainees to pass their course. Upon successful completion of the course, graduates will earn the entry-level TEFL qualification needed to apply for most jobs around the world.
Trainees’ teaching practice will be observed by experienced EFL teacher trainers and lessons will be delivered to real non-native English speakers. After each teaching session, course participants will benefit from trainers’ insightful advice, constructive feedback and helpful encouragement. All of this will help to build priceless teaching skills and prepare new teachers for a real classroom.
We offer more than two dozen course locations worldwide. Choose from our centers in locations such as Italy, Spain, Thailand, Japan, Egypt, Costa Rica, Buenos Aires, London, New York City and many, many more. No matter the course location, the quality of our training remains constant. We will provide quality course materials, professional training, comfortable accommodation options and of course, an internationally recognized teaching qualification upon completion of the course.
Online TEFL Certification Courses
Our online TEFL certification courses are completed entirely over the Internet and can be taken with or without the support of a personal online tutor. Because the courses are completed online, they do not include observed teaching practice nor do they include classroom time.
Our online TEFL courses have been designed specifically for those who want to gain from internationally accredited TEFL certification, but who don’t have the time, or perhaps the budget to attend one of our in-class training facilities.
Online TEFL courses offer affordability and convenience. Online course participants will be able to complete their course at their own pace and from anywhere in the world—including the comfort of their own home or office.

Combined TEFL Certification Courses
Our combined TEFL certification courses unite the best features of both the online and in-class course options. The combined TEFL course includes all the components of an in-class course and therefore result in exactly the same TEFL certification.
While TEFL theory and our teaching methodology are studied online, combined course trainees will benefit from the opportunity to complete their observed teaching practice at one of our combined course locations. The main benefit here is that the time spent in class is only 1-2 weeks. This means costs are lower and the resulting certification will have included the critical observed teaching practice that so many employers prefer. Combined course locations include our flagship center in Phuket, as well as London, New York City, Barcelona, Rome and Ban Phe, Thailand.

Advanced Diploma TEFL Course
Our Diploma in TEFL is an advanced-level qualification course designed for practicing teachers who have already been teaching in the classroom. The diploma course will require students to draw on past teaching experiences and help to improve teaching skills. The course requires a considerable amount of self study and detailed research in order to fully answer the tasks set at the end of each course study unit. It is conducted entirely through distance learning and can be completed according to each trainee’s personal schedule.
The Diploma course can be taken with or without the aid of a tutor. Each of our tutors has over a decade’s worth of experience and holds numerous advanced-level teaching qualifications. Tutors’ guidance can prove to be invaluable and graduates’ reviews of their tutors are entirely positive.
In order to qualify for the diploma course, applicants must be 18 years of age or older, hold a basic TEFL certificate and have experience in the classroom.
140-hour Online DVD TEFL Certification Course
Our 140-hour online DVD course contains all of the materials of our standard online TEFL certification course but with the added bonus of having 12 DVDs to help guide trainees through the course materials. Our professionally prepared DVDs present the information in an engaging visual format and include additional teaching ideas. The DVDs will be sent via express delivery anywhere in the world and can be used to establish a useful portfolio of information that can be accessed and reviewed throughout one’s teaching career.
Courses can be completed according to each individual’s preferred pace and within an environment most suited to each person’s learning style. Along with the DVD component, participants will also receive the guidance of one of our dedicated course tutors. Our online courses are open to anyone who is fluent in English. No teaching experience is required and trainees need not hold a university degree or any teaching qualifications to be accepted onto our courses.
Advanced/Specialized TEFL courses
ITTT also offers two advanced-level certificate courses for those who have already completed their TEFL certification.
We offer two specialized certificates for teaching EFL: the Certificate in Teaching English to Young Learners (CTEYL), or the Certificate in Teaching Business English (CTBE). These are both 50-hour online courses so no classroom attendance is required. Each course will build upon the lessons learned in basic TEFL training. The additional certificate earned after completing each course will also help to show a teacher’s dedication to professional development and provide lessons needed to become a better, more effective EFL teacher.
In order to qualify for a specialized course, applicants must be 18 years of age or older, be fluent in English and hold a basic TEFL certificate.
