Our teacher training facility in Rome offers so much more than just a certificate for teaching.
Rome is at the center of European history and Italian culture. For thousands of years, the city has played an integral part of European religion, history and culture. Attending our course in Italy’s capital is a once in a lifetime opportunity to absorb Rome in ways that an average tourist can only envy.
‘The Eternal City’ as it’s known, is breathtaking. Travelers can inundate their senses with leisurely strolls down cobblestone streets or by sitting in one of Italy’s famous city squares (piazzas). From touring sites that have witnessed a turbulent past, to a simple afternoon spent relaxing with a cooling portion of gelato (Italian ice cream), our trainees love it here.
Rome is as cosmopolitan as it is modern. It’s one of the few cities that escaped the bombing raids of WWII, so centuries-old buildings and architecture remain unscathed. It has retained its Renaissance and baroque character as well, and the city center of Rome is rightfully listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Rome hosts many festivals as well. Exhibitions, concerts and other shows take place throughout the year and themes include everything from fashion and modern art to theater, music and dance from all over Europe.
With our internationally accredited certificate in-hand, trainees are witnesses to all of Rome’s rich history, culture and beauty. Teaching English here is the best way to acquaint oneself with this truly magnificent city. We’ll also do everything we can to ensure trainees get the most they possibly can from living and working here.
Rome is on the West coast, midway between Italy’s northern and southern borders. While the city is expansive, the historic center is compact and very tourist-friendly. Only 12 miles from the coast, Rome is perfectly located to combine the aspects of a major city with the relaxed nature of Mediterranean life and its beaches.
In addition to certifying trainees as TEFL teachers, we also offer worldwide lifetime job support so we can help course graduates find teaching work in Italy or anywhere else there is demand for qualified EFL teachers.
Apply now, and you could soon be living and teaching right in the center of Rome.

This optional course offers a great opportunity to expand your Italian language skills, whilst also allowing you to experience the authentic Italian culture that most tourists never get to see.Apply Now!
Trainees attending our TEFL course in Rome have two recommended options for their accommodation, both of which are situated in safe and convenient locations close to the training center. Option one is an apartment shared with a local resident, whilst option two is an apartment shared with other trainees on your course. Both options include a private bedroom with shared bathroom and living areas.
Whichever option you choose, your apartment will be on the edge of central Rome, within a short journey of the training center. You will also be close to plenty of cafés, bars and restaurants where you can relax with your fellow trainees in your free time. Please note that although the accommodation is situated close to the city center, the local neighborhood is away from the main tourist routes so prices for eating out and other entertainment are much less than elsewhere in the city.Apply Now!

This information is specific to your country of origin and always subject to change. What is the course schedule?Expand
Classes generally begin at 9:30 a.m. and run until 1:30 p.m. during which grammar and theory are discussed. Afternoons are spent planning lessons with our trainers. Trainees then teach their lessons during the afternoons and evenings, possibly until 8:30 p.m.
What can I expect during teaching practice?Expand
Annually, our school has about 900 students of all ages and all levels, so our trainees will have the opportunity to experience all kinds of teaching situations. The students come from many backgrounds, countries (though typically Italy) and work places.
Lessons are based upon real teaching resources found all over the world and you will have the chance to create your own materials as well. You will receive the aid of your course trainer throughout lesson planning and receive immediate feedback on your lesson after it’s been delivered. Practicum is assessed and a satisfactory assessment is required to earn your TEFL/TESOL certificate.
Who usually attends the course?Expand
On average we have about twenty five students enrolled on each program, most of whom are American or British, but we also have students from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa amongst others. Ages range from 20 to 60 years old, although the majority of our students are between 22 and 30 years old.
Is there a dress code?Expand
During trainees’ lessons, casual attire is allowed. During teaching practice, you will need to dress in trousers/skirts and closed-toe shoes. Men need collared shirts, while women need to wear conservative tops that will cover their shoulders. No visible tattoos or facial piercings are allowed while teaching local students.
What should I bring for course studies?Expand
Just like the first day of any other school, you will need some supplies. We will give you your course material and notebook, but you will need to have your own pens and pencils. You may also want scotch tape, a stapler, highlighters, colored pencils and markers, glue, scissors and white-out. You will also need to buy your own paper for the photocopier. All of these materials can be purchased from a store near the school if you do not wish to bring them from home.
Please note that we have wireless internet available at the school for hooking up a laptop but normally there are no phone lines in the accommodation. There are numerous internet facilities all over Rome and should you require a computer for coursework at the school, we have a computer with internet access available in your classroom.
